Bought this at Staples for $119 on sale – far less than on Amazon at the time of this posting. Would have purchased from Amazon, but they would not match the price. Have used it daily in my home office for a month now.
Three important things to know if you are considering this shredder (and one wish):
1) The unit seems quieter than other home shredders – no biting and grinding fingernails on the chalkboard sounds here. Shreds 10 sheets at a time easily without much noise;
2) If staples and paper clips are put though this shredder by accident, it still operates without jamming – much better than previous shredders I’ve used; and
3) There is NOT a warning offered if the waste bin gets too high; thus, causing loose shredded paper spillage from time-to-time of you don’t watch the waste bin level. Hence, a deduction of one star. It’s a shame because this shredder is awesome overall. Using the plastic front-panel window to guage how much paper is in the shredder does not work well because the window does NOT go up to the top of the shredder. It only goes roughly 65% of the way up to the top. Hence, a deduction of one star. It’s a shame because this shredder is awesome overall. I would rate this five stars if there was some kind of fill indicator.
Wish: The power cord could be about six inches longer to fit comfortably next to or under a desk. Not sure why because the unit has four wheels that make it highly portable. Currently, the cord seems short and it’s not easy to wheel the shredder around my home office with such a short cord, but not worth deducting a star. It just seems like the design engineers skimped on this one perhaps to save cost?
I would recommend purchase even without the overflow bin warning listed in number three above.
